BETHLEHEM, Pa. - For the third time this year seniors Isabel Cardi and Elaina Clancy put up a 1-2 finish to help the Dickinson women's cross country team claim a second-place team finish at the Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University.
Cardi beat out the entire 342-runner field that was comprised of runners across all three NCAA Divisions finishing the 5k course in 20:54.7. Clancy came in seven seconds later at 21:01.1 to earn the second-place spot.
Allyson Yanega placed 42nd clocking in at 22:12.3, while Maddie Garber landed in 56th with a time of 22:28.7. Samanatha Barnes completed the scoring group for the Devils with an 85th-place finish crossing the line in 22:54.0.
The Red Devils earned 167 points to secure second-place, six-points better than third-place University of Buffalo. The University of Miami claimed the team title with just 70 points.
Dickinson also had a group of ladies compete in the women's open 6k with Elizabeth Cassell being the highest finishing Devil with a time of 23:57.3 good for 73rd out of 291 participants. Laura Berman also landed inside the Top-100 in 87th clocking in at 24:11.7. The next trio of DC runners to come in were Molly Heron (25:38.7), Isabella Clarke (25:42.0), and Olivia Oligny-Leggett (25:44.9). Julia Hoffritz and Isabel Crawford finished with times of 25:58.6 and 26:26.7 respectively. Shannon Loughin was the final Devil to complete the race crossing the line in 28:31.1.
