Red Devils Complete Perfect Weekend at Battlefield Classic

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Red Devils women's volleyball team completed a perfect weekend at the Battlefield Classic hosted by Gettysburg College with a pair of straight-set wins on Saturday over Gallaudet and Messiah.  

Match One (no live stats) - Red Devils 3, Bison 0 (25-19, 25-22, 25-21)

For their third match in a row, Dickinson defeated their opponent in straight sets dropping the Bisons of Gallaudet University.

Jenna Schumann led the side in kills with 14.  The duo of Morgan Biggs and Emma Lange accounted for 13 on 30 attempts.  

Jordan Schucker had a team-high 30 assists.  Two players had double-digit digs paced by Elise Butler with 14, followed by 12 from Christina Chu.  

On the service line, both Lange and Schuker had two aces apiece.

Match Two (no live stats) - Red Devils 3, Falcons 0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-21)

To finish off the tournament the Devils downed local foe Messiah College in three sets to complete the perfect weekend.  

In this matchup, Lange had a team-high 11 kills and was joined in double-figures by Biggs who added 10.  Schumann picked up seven to aide the side.

At the net, Schucker had 31 helpers.  Chu racked up 20 digs, while Schumann chipped in 11.  

Defensively, Dessie Anne Nietert and Hanna Riley had a block party combining for seven solo blocks and helping out on another eight.  

All-Tournament Team

Emma Lange and Jenna Schumann were named to the All-Tournament Team.

On Deck

Dickinson will head to the Stevenson Invitational next Friday and Saturday.  They will start the tournament by squaring off with the host Mustangs at 6 p.m. in Owings Mills, Maryland.
