Green Terror Slips Away in Home Finale

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson volleyball team put up a solid fight against visiting McDaniel College, but the Green Terror escaped with a 3-1 decision on Wednesday night.

The Green Terror edged the Red Devils in the opening set 26-24 before the hosts countered with a great start in the second and pulled even 25-15. McDaniel had a strong third set, finishing 25-12 before edging the Red Devils again in the fourth, 25-23.

Dickinson made a great run in the fourth to tie the match, but McDaniel held on to claim the match.

Sophomore Emma Lange (Jupiter, Fla./Benjamin) had some big kills, finishing with 13 on the night, adding three blocks. Morgan Biggs (Stephenson, Va./James Wood) added 12 kills while Jamie Singer (Livingston, N.J./Golda Och) tallied five kills, 13 digs and three service aces.

Junior Kristin Allgaier (Reston, Va./South Lakes) handed out 26 assists and recorded four kills and two aces.

Tatiana Lopez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Colegio Puertorriqueno de Ninas) came away with 16 digs and Christina Chu (Hartsdale, N.Y./Ardsley) reached double figures with 10 digs.

The Red Devils slip to 15-9 overall and 4-5 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Gettysburg College on Saturday to face the Bullets at 1:00 pm.
