(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson volleyball team continued its strong run of play, sweeping York College to improve to 7-3 on the season. The Red Devils won its second straight home match as they got stronger each set of the match.
Dickinson held off a strong start from the Spartans to take the opening set 25-22. The Red Devils stretched the margin to 25-18 in the second and closed out the match with a 25-12 decision in the third.
Sophomore Emma Lange (Jupiter, Fla./Benjamin) was dominant at the net, recording 10 kills, one solo block and three block assists. Classmate Jenna Schumann (Plymouth Meeting, Pa./Germantown Academy) matched Lange's match-high with 10 kills, adding seven digs and a pair of blocks on the night.
Junior Kristin Allgaier (Reston, Va./South Lakes) dished out 25 assists, recording six digs and teaming up with Kylie Albertsen (Woodstock, Md./Marriots Ridge) for a pair of blocks on the outside. Albertsen finished with six block assists and one solo.
Defensively, senior Jacqueline Banker (Rockaway Park, N.Y./Archbishop Malloy) and Tatiana Lopez (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico/Colegio Puertorriqueno de Ninas) combined for 21 digs and each tallied a pair of assists while Christina Chu (Hartsdale, N.Y./Ardsley) tallied six digs.
Banker served the first nine points of the third set, recording three service aces on the night as well.
The Red Devils open Centennial Conference play on Friday night, traveling to Swarthmore College for an 8:00 pm start.
