Mikusova and Schucker Compete at NCAA Championships

GENEVA, Ohio - The Dickinson women's track and field team was represented by a pair of athletes as Darya Mikusova and Jordan Schucker competed at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by the SPIRE Institute on Thursday.

Mikusova took part in the second preliminary heat of the women's 400m hurdles hoping to secure a slot in Saturday's final. She put forth a solid effort posting a time of 1:02.63 which was fourth in her race behind SUNY Geneseo's Gwen Shepardson (1:00.76), Elayna Bahl from Loras (1:01.24), and Ava Forman out of Washington University (1:01.42). Unfortunately for the Devil, she was not able to land a spot in the Top-9 to qualify for the final.

Schucker was involved in the women's javelin throw trying to grab a Top-4 spot and All-American status. Her first toss of the event went 37.23m (122 feet, 2 inches). She followed that up with a slightly shorter heave of 36.82m, before putting up her best throw of the afternoon at 37.81m (124 feet, 0.5 inches) to finish in 13th. The winner of the event was Ava Nelson from Pacific Lutheran at 45.94m (150 feet, 8.7 inches).
