Devils Win Five Races at Shippensburg Mid-Week

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Dickinson women's track and field team showcased dominance in the distance races and consistency across all other levels at the Shippensburg University Mid-Week Invitational.

Sprints

Abbe Kitchin led a pair of Devils in the Top-15 of the 100m with a 13th-place finish thanks to a time of 13.29, while Eliza Gichner took 15th at 13.44. 

Three members of the Red and White found their way into the Top-10 of the 200m as Maddie Brown claimed sixth (27.63), followed by Kitchin (9th - 28.07) and Leah Biwott (10th - 28.16). Gichner came up just on the outside in 11th at 28.28.

Evelyn Swayze and Morgan Mooradian took part in the 400m finishing with times of 1:03.35 (8th) and 1:08.37 (13th) respectively.

In the hurdles events, Darya Mikusova won the 400m by crossing the line in 1:04.07, while Sophia Kovatsis finished in sixth of the 100m at 17.01.

Distance

Isabella Clarke was the only Devil in the 1500m taking fifth in 5:17.44.

Dickinson dominated the 3000m by claiming the first four spots paced by the winner Maddie Garber at 10:40.37, followed by Myra Naqvi (10:44.78), Charlotte Kratovil-Lavelle (10:47.21), and Elizabeth Cassell (10:59.03).

Laura Berman won the second distance race of the day for DC by pacing the field in the 5000m with a time of 18:49.48.

The Devils earned a victory in the 3000m steeplechase thanks to Amiyah Priebe posting a time of 11:49.03.

Relays

Dickinson won the 4x400m by stopping the clock at 4:01.80 courtesy of Mariana Penuela, Sara Penuela, Brown, and Mikusova.

Field

Elizabeth Lieb competed in the triple jump finishing in seventh thanks to a leap of 10.72m.

Abby Everett landed just outside the Top-10 of the shot put with her third toss of 10.14m being good for 11th, while Kovatsis claimed 14th at 8.95m.

Two Devils took up Top-10 spots during the discus as Sarayne Forbes landed on the podium in third at 39.12m and Everett was in ninth with a mark of 34.51m.

Analisa Groble and Jordan Schucker put up a good showing in the javelin with throws of 35.67m and 35.56m being good for fifth and sixth respectively.
