(CARLISLE, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's outdoor track & field team had six athletes earn a remarkable 15 U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors, announced on Friday.
Senior Isabel Cardi (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) earned All-Region in the 1500 and 5000 meters. She clocked a time of 4:32.78 to win the 1500 at the Hopkins Charm City Invitational and won the 5000 at the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational with a school record 16:44.18. She also won the individual title at the Centennial Conference Championships with a meet record time of 16:58.42 and added a bronze medal with the 4x800 relay as well.
Junior Elaina Clancy (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) claimed All-Region in the 10,000 and the 5000 meters. She won the conference championship in the 10,000 meters and qualified for the NCAA Championships with a time of 36:15.87. She posted a time of 17:27.24 to finish second at the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational.
The first-year class had a major impact on the team's success this season. Darya Mikusova (Niantic, Conn./East Lyme) and Emerlee Simons (Princeton, N.J./Stuart Country Day of the Sacred Heart ) earned All-Region with the conference champion 4x400 and second-place 4x100 relays. Mikusova added a win in the 400 hurdles and captured bronze in the 100 hurdles. Simmons was third in the 400 meters.
Sara Penuela Rodriguez (Summit, N.J./Summit) had a great start, earning All-Region with the 4x100 and 4x400 relay, and in the 400 meters and the long jump. Mariana Penuela Rodriguez (Summit, N.J./Summit) was part of both relays and added All-Region in the 100 meters as well.
The Red Devils finished second at the Centennial Conference Championships. Cardi and Clancy will join Christopher Scharf (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) at the NCAA Championships next weekend.
