Women's Track & Field Takes Second at Gettysburg

(GETTYSBURG, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's track & field team captured second place at the Gettysburg Quad Invitational on Saturday.

Senior Elaina Clancy (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) won the 10,000 meters while Allyson Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) crossed the line first in the 1500 and placed second in the 800 meters. Sara Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) ran to third in the 800 and fifth in the 1500.

Sara Yenage won the 4x400 relay, joining Charlotte Kratovil-Lavelle, Margo Lee (Ithaca, N.Y./Ithaca) and Laura Berman (Mendham, N.J./Morris County School of Technology).

First-year Darya Mikusova (Niantic, Conn./East Lyme) won the 400-meter hurdles with classmate Sophia Kovatsis (Natick, Mass./Natick) placing second.

Sara Penuela (Summit, N.J./Summit) won the 200 meters and placed second with the 4x100 relay

Alexandra Colby (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) was second in the 110-meter hurdles and placed fifth in the long jump.

First-years Becca Brown (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) and Emerlee Simons (Princeton, N.J./Stuart Country Day of the Sacred Heart) were third in the pole vault and the 200 meters, respectively.

Abby Everett (Palmerton, Pa./Palmerton Area) won the shot put and placed fifth and sixth in the discus and hammer throw. Claire Shearer (Portland, Ore./Westside Christian) was fourth in the shot put.

Elizabeth Lieb (Easton, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) claimed silver in the triple jump and bronze in the long while Mariana Penuela (Summit, N.J./Summit) placed fourth in the long jump.

Mikusova, Simons and Mariana Penuela joined the the 4x100 relay.  

First-year Eliza Gichner (Bethesda, Md./Holton-Arms) placed fourth in the 100 and sixth in the 200 meters.

The Red Devils travel to the Centennial Conference Championships at Muhlenberg next Saturday.
