(BALTIMORE, Md.) – The Dickinson women's track & field team turned in a number of strong performances at the Johns Hopkins/Loyola University Invitational on Saturday.
Senior Isabel Cardi (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) broke the school record in the 5000 meters while Elaina Clancy (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs) came across the line second. Cardi clocked the third-fastest time in the country, coming in at 16:44. 18
First-year Darya Mikusova (Niantic, Conn./East Lyme) placed third in the 400-meter hurdles and eighth in the 110 hurdles. Alexandra Colby (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) was fifth in the 110 hurdles while Mikusova joined the 4x100 and 4x400 relays for fourth place.
Becca Brown (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) cleared 2.73 meters to finish fourth in the pole vault while Colby was sixth.
Mariana Penuela (Summit, N.J./Summit) and Sara Penuela (Summit, N.J./Summit) placed fourth and sixth in the long jump, respectively, and both placed fourth with the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. Sara added silver in the 400 meters and Mariana added a sixth place showing in the 200.
Allyson Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) and Sara Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) crossed the line second and sixth in the 1500 meters and placed seventh and 11th in the 800.
The Red Devils are scheduled to travel to the Gettysburg Quad Invitational next Saturday.
