Women's T&F Has Strong Outing at SU Midweek Invite

(SHIPPENSBURG, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's track & field team had a strong outing at the Shippensburg University Midweek Invitational on Wednesday.

First-year Sara Penuela (Summit, N.J./Summit) placed second in the 200 meters while Mariana Penuela (Summit, N.J./Summit) ran to third place in the 100 meters.

Mariana and Sara finished fourth and fifth in the long jump, respectively, which puts them both in the Top 50 for NCAA DIII rankings. Sophomore Elizabeth Lieb (Easton, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) captured bronze in the triple jump.

Allyson Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) finished second in the 1500 meters while sister Sarah Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) crossed the line fourth.

First-year Olivia Oligny-Leggett (Valatie, N.Y./Ichabod Crane) clocked a time of 11:52.68 in the 3000 as the lone runner.

Alexandra Colby (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) and Darya Mikusova (Niantic, Conn./East Lyme) ranked fourth and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles. Mikusova came back to capture second in the 400-meter hurdles in a time which currently sits her in the top 25 of NCAA DIII and atop the conference standings by 6 seconds.

Becca Brown (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) turned in a fourth-place finish in the pole vault while Colby finished fifth.

First-year Abby Everett (Palmerton, Pa./Palmerton Area) had top-10 showings in the shot put and discus and just missed in the hammer throw.

The Red Devils are scheduled to compete at the Johns Hopkins/Loyola Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
