Red Devil Women Capture Dickinson Quad Invitational

(CARLISLE, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's and women's track & field teams both claimed wins at the Dickinson Quad-Meet on Saturday at Biddle Field.

The Red Devil women compiled 200 points with Ursinus claiming second with 171.

The Red Devil women had a great day, winning the 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800 relay events. Senior Isabel Cardi (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) led-off the 4x800 and won the 3000-meters.

First-years Mariana Penuela (Summit, N.J./Summit) and Sara Penuela (Summit, N.J./Summit) both ran with the 4x100 and 4x400 relays. Mariana won the long jump while Sara added a win in the 400-meters and placed second in the long jump.

They were joined by first-years Darya Mikusova (Niantic, Conn./East Lyme) and Emerlee Simons (Princeton, N.J. / Stuart Country Day of the Sacred Heart) on both the 4x100 and 4x400 relays and were second in the 100-meters hurdles and 400-meters, respectively. Mikusova also won the 400-meter hurdle race.

Laura Berman (Mendham, N.J./Morris County School of Technology) joined Allyson Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh), Sarah Yanega (Center Valley, Pa./Southern Lehigh) and Cardi on the 4x800 relay.

Allyson and Berman finished first and third in the 1500 meters. Allyson and Sarah also ran to second and third in the 800 meters.

First-year Eliza Gichner (Bethesda, Md./Holton-Arms) placed second in the 100-meter.

Alexandra Colby (Hingham, Mass./Hingham) won the 100-meter hurdles and placed second in the 400-meter hurdles while Elizabeth Lieb (Easton, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) won the triple jump and placed third in the long jump. Maddie Gidman (Willington, Conn./Edwin O. Smith) was second behind Lieb in the triple.

First-year Abby Everett (Palmerton, Pa./Palmerton Area) captured bronze in the discus and Ella Meyer (Glen Allen, Va./Glen Allen) crossed the line fourth in the 5000.

The Red Devils travel to Shippensburg University on Wednesday for the SU Midweek Invitational.
