Four Swimmers Claim Top-10 Finishes on Final Day of CC Championships

LANCASTER, Pa. - First-years Olivia Abbott-Havers, Emily Carkhuff, sophomore Margot Armstrong, and junior Sarah Caron each earned a Top-10 finish on the final day of the Centennial Conference championships at the Kunkel Aquatic Center on the campus of Franklin & Marshall College to help the Red and White earn a sixth-place team finish.

Carkhuff began the action for the Devils with a ninth-place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle as she stopped the clock at 18:28.44. Sophie Laclef came in 19th with a time of 19:45.44.

Caron continued the strong start for DC by taking fourth in the 200-yard backstroke by hitting the wall in 2:08.81, while Sarah McHenry earned 15th wrapping up her race in 2:18.12.

Abbott-Havers claimed victory during the "B" final of the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.55, which was the ninth-best overall time in the event. 

Maddi Vlattas got into the action in the 200-yard breaststroke taking 13th by clocking in at 2:30.07.

Armstrong became the fourth Devil to finish inside the Top-10 of an event taking sixth in the 200-yard butterfly with a mark of 2:13.53. Margaux Reyna (13th - 2:18.14) and Sarah Mulcahy (16th - 2:23.19) also competed in the event for the Devils. 

The team of Caroline Christianson, Abbott-Havers, Armstrong, and Caron seized fifth during the 400-yard freestyle relay by touching the wall in 3:42.80. Julia Ciesielka, Norah Wilson, Carkhuff, and Vlattas finished in 14th position at 3:49.82. 

Swarthmore College completed their team title sweep as they racked up 950.50 points to bury the rest of the field as Gettysburg earned 597 followed by Franklin & Marshall (509.50), Ursinus (493), Washington (339), Dickinson (282), Bryn Mawr (189), and McDaniel (97).
