Women's Swimming Competes in Day One of Centennial Conference Championships

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Dickinson women's swimming team began their long weekend at the Centennial Conference Championships by competing in a pair of relay races on Thursday night inside the Kunkel Aquatic Center on the campus of Franklin & Marshall College.

The Red and White began the night by taking sixth in the 200-yard medley relay as the team of Sarah Caron, Kelly Hester, Margaux Reyna, and Norah Wilson clocked in at 1:50.94. Swarthmore won the event with a mark of 1:44.86. The group of Sarah McHenry, Hadley Starr, Hannah Strauss, and Maddi Vlattas took 12th in the "B" final by hitting the wall in 1:52.90. 

The Devils showed consistency during the 800-yard freestyle relay with the team of Olivia Abbott-Havers, Emily Carkhuff, Caroline Christianson, and Wilson posting a time of 8:03.33 for yet another sixth-place result. The Garnet earned their second win of the night by clocking in at 7:43.60. The unit of Margot Armstrong, Sophie Laclef, Starr, and Vlattas came in 13th during the "B" final after stopping the timer at 8:19.21.

After one night the Red and White find themselves in sixth-place with a score of 70, which leaves them eight points behind both Gettysburg and Ursinus who are deadlocked at 78.

The next two sessions of the Centennial Conference championships take place tomorrow with the morning session beginning at 10 a.m. before the night session kicks off at 6 p.m.
