Cooney, Hughes, and Tate Named All-Conference

LANCASTER, Pa. - Dickinson women's soccer juniors Sarah Hughes and Meg Tate along with sophomore Emma Cooney have been named to the Centennial Conference All-Conference teams as announced by the league office on Thursday.

Tate, a native of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, earned First Team honors for the second time in her Red Devil career. She led the Red and Black on the season with 19 points thanks to eight goals and three helpers. Her biggest output of the season came on September 25th when she netted a hat-trick on the road at Ursinus in a 4-1 win over the Bears. She also recorded two game-winners on the campaign against Mount Aloysius and Haverford. 

Cooney, a native of Massapequa, New York, picked up her first all-conference honor by being named selected to Second Team. She made 17 starts for the Devils racking up 11 points thanks to four goals while dishing out three assists. Cooney netted the game-winner in a 2-0 shutout at Penn State-Berks on September 14th. She also tallied single markers versus Arcadia, Mount Aloysius, and Susquehanna. 

Hughes, a native of Media, Pennsylvania, was named to the Second Team after receiving Honorable Mention in 2019. She appeared in and started all 17 matches for Dickinson this season and helped solidify a backline that only conceded 14 goals. She aided the Devils cause in posting eight clean sheets, which included four in a row to begin the year.
