CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's soccer team gave the ninth-ranked McDaniel College Green Terror all they could handle on Saturday afternoon, but it would not be enough as Maddie Schwartz goal in the 63rd-minute was enough for a 1-0 win in the Centennial Conference showdown at Dickinson Park.
McDaniel was on the front foot to start with Hannah Schepers missing the mark in the second minute. That woke the Red Devils attack up as Meg Tate, Macey Mento, and Keira Shoup all recorded shots, but were unable to test Katherine Carstensen. The visitors would have a chance in the 12th as Jules Dotterweich sent a shot wide right. The remainder of the half belonged to DC as they outshot the Terror 5-2 over the final 23 minutes, however, Lauren Bracken, Sophia Elguera, Tate, and Shoup were all unable to hit the net.
McDaniel began the second period strong with Schepers getting two early shots, before she would setup Schwartz at the 62:24 mark for the 1-0 lead. Jessie Titus almost made it 2-0 in the 66th, but her blast hit the woodwork. Dickinson would press for the equalizer as Sarah Cudmore and Tate each recorded a shot over the final 15 minutes, unfortunately, none of them hit the target and the Green Terror escaped with a 1-0 win.
