CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's soccer team fired 22 shots, but only scored once thanks to Charlotte Glancey in the 73rd-minute to keep the Red Devils unbeaten as they knocked off Hood College 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Phyllis Joan Miller Memorial Field in non-conference play.
It took Dickinson eight minutes to get their first shots of the game as Kiera Shoup and Lily Schmitt both missed the target. Hood recorded their only shot of the match in the 50th-minute as Priya Nair was shutdown by Sophia Kavulich. Over the following ten minutes, Cooney, Elguera, Schmitt, and Shoup all fired chances towards goal, but none of them hit the target. Isabela Jesse and Lauren Bracken both missed high, before Glancey finally beat Dolan for the 1-0 lead. Dolan would make three more saves in the match stopping Sarah Hughes, Allie Charnas and Violette.
The Red Devils will look to move to 4-0 on Tuesday night when they visit Penn State-Berks for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
