Bloes Nets 100th Goal as Red Devils Roll Past Mules

(ALLENTOWN, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's lacrosse team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, rolling past Muhlenberg College, 17-6, on Wednesday afternoon.

The Red Devils put 10 goals on the board before the Mules broke up the run with eight minutes remaining in the first half.

Greta Holt (Alexandria, Va./Episcopal) opened the scoring before Maddy Gesner (West Newton, Mass./Kimball Union Academy) drove to the crease and Chase Landis (New Canaan, Conn./Berkshire) scored just 29 seconds later to put the Red Devils up 3-0.

Holt used a great screen from Erika Bloes (Riverside, Conn./Greenwich) to net her second of the game at the 22:30 mark.

Bloes stretched the lead to 5-0, netting the 100th goal of her career with 19:46 remaining, scoring off an assist from Landis.

Gabby Guadalupe (Springfield, Va./St. Stephens St. Agnes) tallied her first goal of the season before Laurie Travaglini (Darien, Conn./Darien) and Katherine Kerin (Franklin Lakes, N.J./Indian Hill) stretched the margin to 8-0.

Gesner scored her second and Ashley Fearey (Towson, Md./Bryn Mawr) recorded the first collegiate goal of her career before Muhlenberg closed out the half with two goals to make the score 10-2.

Holt dished out assists to Hayden Posencheg (Newtown Square, Pa./Friends' Central) and Bloes as the Red Devils traded goals with the Mules to start the second half. Holt handed out another assist, feeding Liv Yeagle (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) to trigger a 5-0 run for the Red Devils.

Sydney MacKeigan (Nantucket, Mass./Middlesex School) and Kerin converted free position goals and Yeagle finished an assist from Guadalupe. Travaglini closed out the scoring the Dickinson at the 10:28 mark.

Muhlenberg was able to produce a pair of goals down the stretch for the final of 17-6.

The Red Devils had 11 players score on the afternoon. Holt led the attack with two goals and three assists, adding three draws and three ground balls. Travaglini finished with two goals and a game-high eight draw controls.

Ella Marks (Littleton, Colo./Colorado Academy) made three saves and Avery Priest (San Rafael, Calif./St. Ignatius Prep) added one as the Red Devils improve to 2-3 overall and 2-2 in the Centennial Conference.

The Red Devils return home to face #1-ranked Franklin & Marshall on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
