SCRANTON, Pa. – The Dickinson women's basketball team went just 5-22 in the fourth quarter and was held without a free throw attempt in the contest as they dropped the consolation game of the Scranton Hilton Poinsettia Classic to the Stevenson University Mustangs, by a score of 54-42 on Wednesday night at the John Long Center.

Dickinson started off strong as Jennifer Kremp hit from long range and then added a floating layup for a 5-0 lead. Olivia Coleman got Stevenson on the board with a pair of free throws, before Gina Neigel made it 7-2 with 2:38 gone. Two layups for Mia Kolb helped the Devils hold onto a five-point cushion at 11-6 with 3:20 left. Kellie Johnson cut it down to 11-8, before Kate Montgomery and Caitlin Blackman scored for the Red and Black to stretch the margin to 15-7. The Mustangs closed on a 5-0 push to make it 15-12 after one.

A Coleman bucket continued the Mustangs gallop to begin the second, but a Blackman pull-up stopped the run at 17-14 DC with two minutes elapsed. Morgan Debeary, Denia Campbell, and Johnson all scored for SU during a 5-0 push to take a 19-17 edge less than three minutes in. Clair Marion converted a tough runner in the lane to tie the score before Johnson answered back making it 21-19. Both sides would add four more points the remainder of the half with Jenna Weinstein and Marion scoring for the Devils to go into the break down just two 25-23.

Baskets by Kremp and Kolb out of the break kept the Devils right in the game as they trailed by just one at 29-28 with 1:23 off the clock. Campbell then went on a personal 4-0 sprint, while the Red and Black missed six consecutive shots to fall behind 34-28 with four minutes remaining. Blackman and Marion provided the offense for Dickinson over the next two minutes, but DC was unable to cut into the deficit falling behind 39-32.

Dickinson was held scoreless over the first 5:05 of the fourth until Blackman knocked home a baseline jumper as Stevenson had extended their advantage to 47-32 thanks to Coleman and Debeary. The two sides would then trade baskets with Marion, Montgomery, and Weinstein scoring for the Devils to bring the margin to 52-42 with 43-seconds left. Campbell added two more foul shots for the 54-42 final.
