HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Dickinson women's basketball team got 11 points each from Clair Marion and Kate Montgomery, but it would not be enough as the Red Devils were limited to a season-low 47 points in a 59-47 loss to Haverford College on Saturday afternoon.

Both teams would score in the opening minute with Ally Landau and Mia Kolb picking up points for their respective teams. The Fords carried the play over the next seven minutes with three players scoring during an 11-2 run led by six from Landau to take a 13-4 lead with two minutes to play. Caitlin Blackman stopped the push with a triple and Kayla Rose would add a layup to cut the margin to 15-9 after one.

Montgomery provided the only Devils offense over the first 1:20 of the second frame as Annebelle Copeland and Cortyln Morris opened the gap back up to double-digits at 21-11. Another Blackman three made it 21-14, but Landau answered right back with a layup. Dickinson responded with the following nine points thanks to five from Jennifer Kremp along with support from Marion and Montgomery to draw level 23-23 with 4:32 to go. Kremp would add four more points in the frame on a triple and a free throw to bring DC within one at half, 28-27.

Early buckets from Copeland and Kolb held the gap at the 30-29. Gia Flamini and Landau pushed the lead back to four 36-32, at the 4:45 mark. Consecutive layups from Kayla Robinson stretched the advantage to 40-32 before Montgomery slowed down the Fords momentum with two on the line. Landau and Robinson chipped in layups in the final minute to make it 44-34 after 30 minutes.

Morris scored on the opening possession, but then Dickinson tried to get back into the game as Marion scored seven of eight during an 8-0 DC charge to close within 48-40 just three minutes in. A bucket from Morris stalled the run, but Lindsey Hollenshead and Blackman would score for the Devils to make it 50-45 at the halfway point. Unfortunately for Dickinson Haverford closed the game on a 9-2 sprint to earn the 59-47 win.
