(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's basketball team turned in a dominant performance on Thursday night, rolling to a 66-43 win over visiting Johns Hopkins University.

The Red Devils jumped out to a 7-0 lead behind a pair of baskets from Kate Deutsch (Marlton, N.J./Camden Catholic) and a three-pointer by Emily Padalino (West Sand Lake, N.Y./Albany Academy).

Halle Maeda (Santa Monica, Calif./Mira Costa) and Hannah Heiring (Wayzata, Minn./Wayzata) knocked down three-pointers to stretch the margin to 13-6 at the end of the first quarter.

Padalino and Deutsch closed out the half the way they started the game. Deutsch added a lay-up, two free throws and dished an assist to Padalino for a three while the Red Devils held the Blue Jays to just seven in the second to lead 28-13 at the break.

Padalino drained a pair of three-pointers and Hannah Peck (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart) knocked down a triple to give Dickinson a 21-point advantage with 6:50 remaining in the third period.

First-year Mia Kolb (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) fed Deutsch inside and then hit a three of her own before classmate Maura Leverone (Herndon, Va./Bishop O'Connell) sank two free throws to put Dickinson up, 46-23, at the end of the quarter.

Claudia Maira (Clinton, N.J./North Hunterdon) sparked the Red Devils to start the fourth while Gina Neigel (Berkley Heights, N.J./Mount St. Mary Academy) and Ariana Goitz (Gibsonia, Pa./Shade Side Academy) gave solid minutes as they maintained the lead throughout the final stanza.

Padalino led a long list of scorers with a game-high 14 points, going 4-for-5 from beyond the arc. Deutsch was just shy of a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds, adding three assists.

Maeda did a little of everything to help build the lead early as she tallied three points, three steals, two assists and two rebounds. Maira added four points, four rebounds and two assists while Heiring and Kolb finished with five points and three rebounds. Montgomery had six points on the night.

Hopkins did all it could from the free throw line, hitting 18-of-20 as the teams combined to hit 38-of-42 from the stripe.

The Red Devils improve to 11-10 overall and 9-7 in the Centennial Conference. They are home again on Saturday, hosting Ursinus College at 2:00 pm.
