(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's basketball team continued its strong run of play, posting its fourth straight win, splitting the season series with Franklin & Marshall with a 69-53 victory on Tuesday night. The Red Devils almost flipped the score from November when the Diplomats claimed a 72-59 decision in Lancaster.
The Red Devils had another balanced offensive attack, led by a game and career-high 16 points from first-year Mia Kolb (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) as she went 6-for-8 from the field, adding four rebounds and three steals.
There was a strong Jenkintown presence as sophomore Jennifer Kremp (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) tallied nine points and four assists, going 6-for-6 from the free throw line.
Hannah Peck (Baldwin, N.Y./Sacred Heart) went 3-for-3 from beyond the arc, reaching double figures with 11 points on the night. Emily Padalino (West Sand Lake, N.Y./Albany Academy) and Kate Deutsch (Marlton, N.J./Camden Catholic) each netted eight points and combined for 10 rebounds.
The Red Devils erased an 8-7 deficit with a 9-0 run to double-up the Diplomats at the end of the first quarter, 16-8.
Claudia Maira (Clinton, N.J./North Hunterdon) knocked down a three-pointer and then fed Kolb for a lay-up to stretch the lead to 25-15, with just over two minutes remaining in the half. Deutsch added a field-goal and a pair of free throws to help the Red Devils take a 31-19 advantage into the break.
Peck led the way in the third, netting a trio of three-pointers as the hosts built the lead to 55-34. Kolb opened the final stanza with seven straight points while Kremp dished out three assists in the opening run.
The Diplomats tried to make a final push, but the Red Devil defense held on for the 69-53 final.
The Red Devils are on the road on Thursday, traveling to Baltimore to face Johns Hopkins University at 6:00 pm.
