Red Devils Roll Past Owls for Third Straight Win

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's basketball team turned in an outstanding defensive performance, using a balanced attack to win its third straight game, rolling past Bryn Mawr 83-33 on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils stormed out to an early lead behind seven first-quarter points from senior Emily Padalino (West Sand Lake, N.Y./Albany Academy). The Red Devils held the Owls scoreless over the opening 10 minutes to lead 19-0 at the first break.

Halena Martin put the visitors on the board at the 8:39 mark of the second quarter as the Red Devils continued to build on the lead, taking a 41-12 advantage into halftime.

Things would not get any easier for the Owls as the Red Devils went 4-for-6 from beyond the arc in the third quarter while allowing just five points on the defensive end.

Bryn Mawr kept battling, claiming the final quarter 16-12 as six different players put points on the board.

Sophomore Halle Maeda (Santa Monica, Calif./Mira Costa) had a quick start and led the Red Devils with 11 points and five assists, hitting 5-of-6 shots on the afternoon.

First-years Mia Kolb (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) and Maura Leverone (Herndon, Va./Archbishop O'Connell) reached double figures with 10 points while Padalino finished with nine points and three steals.

Hannah Heiring (Wayzata, Minn./Wayzata) had a strong third quarter, finishing with seven points and four rebounds while Claudia Maira (Clinton, N.J./North Hunterdon) tallied six points, two assists and four steals.

Ariana Goitz (Gibsonia, Pa./Shady Side Academy) knocked down a pair of three-pointers while Jennifer Kremp (Jenkintown, Pa./Jenkintown) and Gina Neigel (Berkley Heights, N.J./Mount St. Mary Academy) combined for 11 points and eight rebounds.

Kate Montgomery (Scituate, Mass./Scituate) chipped in with seven points and Kate Deutsch (Marlton, N.J./Camden Catholic) tallied four points and four rebounds.

The Red Devils improve to 5-5 on the season. They are home again on Tuesday night, hosting Franklin & Marshall at 7:00 pm.
