(CARLISLE, Pa.) – The Dickinson softball team split a Centennial Conference double-header with Muhlenberg on Saturday.

The Red Devils jumped out to a 4-0 lead in game one and went on to win 6-2. Game two was back-and-forth and went into extra innings before the Mules came out on top, 9-8, to force the split.

The Red Devils used five hits to score four runs in the first inning. Paige Hahn (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth) drove in two runs while Maggie McConney (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) drove in another. First-year Devon Kueny (Ewing, N.J./Ewing) drew a bases-loaded walk to drive in a run as well.

Muhlenberg scored one in the fourth before the Red Devils answered with two in the bottom of the inning. McConney added another RBI while first-year Lindsay Kucker (Ewing, N.J./Lawrenceville School) drew a walk to make the score 6-1.

The Mules tacked on one in the top of the fifth for the final of 6-2.

McConney went 2-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored while Marissa Fabbo (Wilbraham, Mass./Wilbraham & Munson) went 2-for-2 and drew a pair of walks. Hahn added two hits, two RBI and a run scored as well.

Kat Vill (South Plainfield, N.J./South Plainfield) earned the win in the circle with a complete game.

Game two was a see-saw battle the entire way. Muhlenberg scored lone runs in the first and second innings. The Red Devils rallied with two outs, scoring three runs in the bottom of the third to take a one run lead.

Hahn drove in two runs with a double while Julie Siecinski (Edison, N.J./J.P. Stevens) singled in another.

The Mules pulled even in the fifth and pushed across a pair in the sixth to lead 5-3. Fabbo doubled and scored on a single from Vill to cut the deficit to one in the bottom of the sixth.

Muhlenberg added two insurance runs in the seventh, but it wouldn't be enough as Dickinson pulled even with three in the bottom half.

Hahn came up big with another two-RBI single to pull the Red Devils within one. Fabbo hit into an error in center that allowed Kristen Acocella (Redding, Conn./Joel Barlow) to score and tie the game.

Both teams held in the eighth and Muhlenberg produced two in the ninth to lead 9-7. Acocella led-off the ninth with a double and immediately came around to score on a single from Siecinski.

The Mules would hold on from there to slip away with the 9-8 win.

Hahn tallied four RBI and two more hits in the nightcap. Acocella added two hits and three runs scored while Siecinski drove in two runs with two hits and Brigitte Gutpelet (Norristown, Pa./William Penn Charter) went 2-for-3 with a run scored and two walks.

The Red Devils move to 1-5 on the season. The Red Devils are home again next Saturday, hosting Ursinus College in a 1:00 pm double-header.
