(Haverford, Pa.) – The Dickinson softball team advanced to the Centennial Conference final with a 1-0 win over top-seed Haverford College on Friday afternoon, scoring the lone run in the bottom the eighth inning.

Sophomore Marissa Fabbo (Wilbraham, Mass./Wilbraham & Munson) led-off the bottom of the eight inning and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt from Alissa Lema (Lutherville, Md./Towson).

That set the stage for a walk-off single from sophomore Brigitte Gutpelet (Norristown, Pa./Penn Charter) to send the Red Devils to the final.

Senior Madison Milaszewski (Rutland, Mass./Sutton) turned in a remarkable performance in the circle, flirting with a perfect game as she tossed a no-hitter, surrendering one walk while recording eight strikeouts.

Temma Lewis turned had a strong showing in the circle for Haverford, holding the Red Devils to just three hits in a complete game effort.

Gutpelet had two of the Red Devils hits, adding a single in the third inning.

The Red Devils improve to 23-15 on the season. They will play the second game on Saturday after Haverford squares-off with Swarthmore in an elimination game at 11:00 am.

The Red Devils will face the winner in the championship series, needing one win to capture the title in the double-elimination tournament.
