CARLISLE, Pa. - Christopher Scharf claimed his second win in a row for the 2021 campaign as he helped the Dickinson men's cross country team win the Little 3 Championship for the 24th-consecutive time. Scharf paced the field of 43 runners representing Dickinson, Franklin & Marshall, and Gettysburg finishing in 15:52 to win the title.
His brother Charles Scharf finished in 15:54 to place second, while teammate Matthew Dietrick followed him three seconds later. Brock Overlander was the final Red Devil in the Top-10 coming across in fifth (16:07).
Colin Schweitzer's time of 16:41 was good for 14th, which beat out the pair of Nolan Meinke (15th) and James Marks (16th) who came in at 16:50 and 16:51 respectively. Michael Loalbo clocked in at 16:53 for 18th, while Jacob Dohery Munro landed inside the Top-20 with a time of 17:05.
Charles Miske placed 22nd (17:16). The trio of Coltin Albitz (17:36), Chris Lozano (17:38) and Romario Cruz (17:40) occupied places 25 through 27. Shane Coll and Hunter Omerzo were the next two Devils to finish with times of 17:49 and 17:51. Ethan Katz (18:16) and Max Collins (18:26) were the last two Dickinson runners to complete the course.
In the team scoring, Dickinson finished with 20 points to beat out F&M with 35 and Gettysburg 37.
Dickinson will stay at home next weekend to host their men's and women's alumni 5k on Saturday at Dickinson Park.
