Scharf Wins Race as Devils Take Home Team Title

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Dickinson College men's cross country team looked strong in their first outing since 2019 as they placed three runners inside the Top-10 to claim the team title at the Galen Piper Cross Country Challenge hosted by Shippensburg University on Friday night. Senior Christopher Scharf won the individual crown with a time of 19:09.3.

The next Red Devil to finish was his brother Charles Scharf who came in at 19:18.7.  Those two were joined in the Top-10 by rookie Matthew Dietrick who placed tenth in 19:49.9.  

Teddy Mercer clocked in at 19:56.7 which was good for 11th. Brock Overlander landed in 18th (20:17.6), followed by Jacob Dohery Munro two spots later with a time of 20:20.1 and Colin Schweitzer in 22nd at 20:24.8. William Trapp landed inside the Top-30 in 27th crossing the line in 20:34.3, while four seconds behind came Michael Loalbo (20:38.3).  

James Marks and Nolan Meinke finished three seconds apart with times of 21:02.9 and 21:05.2. Charlie Miske added a time of 21:08.7, while Hunter Omerzo finished in 22:06.1.  

The Red Devils had five other racers complete the course Chris Lozano (22:18.4), Coltin Albitz (22:41.9), Ethan Katz (22:46.4), Shane Coll (22:53.0) and Max Collins (23:03.2).
