Devils Compete at Blue Jay Tune-Up

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Dickinson men's track and field team had a limited squad compete on Saturday at the Blue Jay Tune-Up on the campus of Elizabethtown College.


A trio of Devils competed in the 400m with Jack Corkum taking 17th with a time of 56.36. Anh Nguyen clocked in at 57.07, while Tyler Erdmann posted a mark of 1:03.38.


Teddy Mercer finished just outside the Top-3 in the 800m as he stopped the clock at 2:00.21 which was good for fourth.


Dickinson did have a team do battle in the 4x400m with the group of Max Collins, Luke Sternick, Erdmann, and Mercer finishing in 11th with a time of 4:30.50. 


Three DC competitors finished the shot put within the Top-5 as Ethan Hart won the event with a toss of 15.37m. Graeson Ruch earned fourth with a mark of 13.07m, which barely edged out teammate Matthew Harvey at 13.05m.

Hart came up just short of victory in the discus as his distance of 43.05m was just .02 off the winning mark from Tyler Hauk of Susquehanna University. Ruch finished in fourth at 40.50m and Harvey took sixth (38.08m).

Dickinson heads to Collegeville, Pennsylvania next Friday for day one of the Centennial Conference championships at Ursinus College. The action begins at 1 p.m.
