(CARLISLE, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's outdoor track & field team earned four U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors, announced on Friday.
Junior Christopher Scharf (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) ran to All-Region in the 3000-meter steeplechase and the 5000 meters. He posted a time of 9:08.45 in the steeplechase to rank seventh, nationally, and earn a trip to the NCAA Championships. He clocked a time of 14:33.41 in the 5000 meters and also broke the school record in the 3000 this season with a mark of 8:24.82.
Sophomore Cole Boback (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) clocked a time of 49.39 to earn All-Region in the 400 meters, placing second at the Centennial Conference Championships. He won a conference title in the 200 and placed third and fourth with the 4x100 and 4x400 relays.
Sophomore Teddy Mercer (Cortland, N.Y./Homer) was named the Outstanding Performer of the Meet at the conference championships, winning the 800 and 1500-meter events, and placing third with the 4x800 relay. He clocked a season-best at the Hopkins Charm City Invitational, crossing the line in 3.53.77 to earn his All-Region spot.
The Red Devils captured second at the conference championship, marking their best finish since 2011. Scharf will join senior Isabel Cardi (Media, Pa./Strath Haven) and junior Elaina Clancy (Boiling Springs, Pa./Boiling Springs.) at the National Championships next weekend.
