Scharf 3000m Record Leads Men's T&F Win

(CARLISLE, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's and women's track & field teams both claimed wins at the Dickinson Quad-Meet on Saturday at Biddle Field.

The men's team tallied 256 points to better second place Ursinus with 175.

In the first event back in over a year, Christopher Scharf (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) broke the school record in the 3000m, running 8:24.82 to win the event.

The men's team had a great day in the relays, winning the 4x100, 4x800 and placing second in the 4x400. Ben Brandeis (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) ran the lead leg of the 4x100 and 4x400 and placed second in the 400-meter hurdles.

Cole Boback (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) and Luke Sternick (Latrobe, Pa./Hempfield) also joined both relays while Boback also won the 400 meters and 200 meters.

Senior Odin Bules (Union Mills, Ind./South Central) won the 5000-meters while Charles Scharf (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) finished second in the 3000-meters and James Marks (West Hartford, Conn./Hall School) crossed the line third.

Teddy Mercer (Cortland, N.Y./Homer) won the 1500-meters and 800-meters while Julian John (Bang Talad, Thailand / International School of Bangkok) finished in third in the 800.

First-year Nick Balenzano (Darien, Conn./Darien) joined the winning 4x100 relay, won the 100-meters and placed second in the long jump. Garrett Randall (Gwynn Oak, Md./Loyola-Blakefield) claimed bronze in the 100. First-year Jacob Choudhri (Albany, N.Y. / Albany) took home gold in his first collegiate Triple Jump competition.

Ethan Hart (New Markey, Md./Linganore) earned silver in the discus and shot put while Brock Hartman (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) was third in the discus and shot put and fourth in the hammer throw.

First-year Pablo Ralda (Alexandria, Va./Justice) ran with the 4x400 relay and classmate Liam Coulter (Allegheny, N.Y./Allegheny Limestone Central) was second in the 110-meter hurdles

Charlie Miske (Pelham, N.Y./Pelham Memorial) finished third in the pole vault, fourth in the javelin and led off the fourth place 4x400m Relay.

The Red Devils travel to Shippensburg University on Wednesday for the SU Midweek Invitational.
