ENTRY FEE:   $300 PER GENDER ($600 per school) or $15.00 per individual athlete

4 Team Meet Scoring: 9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 in all individual events. Two individual entries per event shall score.  9-7-6-5 in relay events.  One relay entry per institution shall score.

Entries: (Direct Athletics) Open Monday, March 31 and closed Wednesday,

April 7 @ 11:59pm.  Unlimited entries.

Spectators:  NO SPECTATORS WILL BE PERMITTED!

Medical Support: Trainers will be available in the Kline Center and at Biddle stadium. 

Check-In: Check-in for the running events will be at the Check-in area

behind the finish line. Please have your athletes check in by the

second call for their event. Field event competitors check in at the

event upon the first call. 

Facility: Biddle track is an Eight-lane all-weather surface. ¼” Pyramid spikes are allowed.

Starting Blocks: Blocks will be provided

Restrooms: Will be available in the Kline Center and at the Biddle Stadium

Results: Results will be tabulated as the meet progresses and will be

available on the Press Box window shortly after each event. Complete results will be available at the meet conclusion.

Staggers: 800m-1-turn stagger. 4x400 relay-3 turn stagger.

Starting Heights: Starting heights will be determined based on the entries and may

be adjusted by the official at the event to accommodate the athletes.

Relay Cards: Turn in upon first call

Pole Vault & High Jump:  Pole vault will be contested Indoors (Kline Center)

Javelin:  Grass runway surface

Implement certification: 9:30am-10:30am on the artificial turf area

 

MEET PROTOCALS

Meet Officials

• Officials must complete a verbal symptom checklist and temperature screening upon arrival at the site.

    • If an official is experiencing any of the following, they should return home, self-quarantine, and contact their health care provider for further evaluation: o Fever of 100.4 oF (38 C) or higher
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing.
    • Sore Throat
    • Fatigue/Muscle aches.
    • New loss of taste and smell.
    • Diarrhea.
    • Headache
    • Chills
    • Congestion/Runny nose
    • Nausea/vomiting
    • ;
    • All officials must wear face coverings at all times.

 

MEET DAY OPERATING PROCEDURES 

The following are standards for meet day operation to minimize the risk of exposure and transmission. These procedures will be shared and agreed upon with opponents prior to competition. Only Tier 1 and Tier 2 individuals will be permitted access to the site of competition and indoor facility usage for the Pole Vault competition will be limited to athletes and coaches only. All Tier 2 Individuals who are qualified to work the meet will be required to have a wristband, credential, lanyard or other item that signifies their status and allowing access to the field and building spaces. 

Health Screening

• All Tier 1 and Tier 2 individuals must complete their Medicat System symptom checklist (see below) and a temperature screen at the beginning of any activity. *A verbal check is permissible if access to Medicat is unavailable. If an athletic staff member or student-athlete is experiencing any of the following, they should return home, self-quarantine, and contact the wellness center or other health care provider for further evaluation2: o Fever of 100.4 oF (38 C) or higher

    • Dickinson coaches are responsible for completing and documenting the pre-activity screen as stated above upon entry to the field.
    • Visiting coaches are responsible for completing the pre-activity screen prior to departure.

Masking

• Facial coverings must be worn at all times except for the competitive event (throw, jump, race).  This includes arrival to and departure from the meet and all check-in and warm-up activities. 

• Student-athletes and all Tier 1 and Tier 2 individuals working directly with student-athletes and meet day operations are required to wear a face covering at all times. Face shields or gaiters shall not be used as a suitable replacement for a face covering/mask for coaches, staff and non-participating student-athletes on the sideline. Any other individuals entering the facility for any reason, including EMS, media personnel, etc., shall be required to wear a face covering at all times. 

Physical Distancing

• Student-athletes and athletics personnel will remain physically distanced whenever possible during all events.

• Teams will remain physically distanced from each other and will be assigned a specific staging area in the stadium. All team members must keep all belongings in this area.  This area will be determined prior to the contest and clearly marked, and each team will have pre-determined access/exit routes to the competition site and team area.

• There will be no pre-game or post-game handshakes/fist bumps between student-athletes, coaches, or officials.

Team staging areas:

  • Gettysburg – press box bleachers closest to the starting line
  • McDaniel = press box bleachers in the middle
  • Dickinson – press box bleachers closets to the finish line
  • Ursinus – visiting side bleachers on the back stretch

Warm-up procedures

  • Each team will be assigned a specific warm-up area on ¼ of the turf area adjacent to the main track facility.

       All athletes must warm-up in this team warm-up area.  No warm-ups will take place inside the track. 

       Masks must be worn during all warm-up activities and only removed for the specific throw, jump, run, etc.

Clerking and Check-in

  • Check-in for field events will take place at the site of the competition for the event.  Athletes must maintain physical distancing while proceeding through the check-in process.   Check-in for field events will take place at the starting line for each running event.   Athletes must maintain physical distancing during this clerking process.

Field event equipment

  • Each team is responsible for providing equipment to be used during the competition.  Equipment may not be shared with other teams competing in the event.

 Disinfection/Sanitization

• Dickinson College housekeeping will disinfect/sanitize home, visiting team spaces and official’s area prior to each game using EPA-approved disinfectants and all disinfected areas should be locked down between the time of final disinfection and the arrival of the teams, meet officials and other essential personnel who utilize those spaces. Once the home and visiting teams have accessed their respective team spaces, only Tier 1 and Tier 2 individuals are allowed to access those spaces during pre-meet, meet, and post-meet time frames.  

  • Home and visiting team spaces may include:
    • Designated restroom (no full locker room will be provided)
    • Team staging area
    • Field event areas

• Dickinson College Athletics will make every effort to provide appropriate sanitizing wipes, hand sanitizer and additional sanitizing products within the spaces identified above.

• Dickinson College Athletics will use EPA-approved disinfectants with gloves and mask to spray and wipe down all equipment and surfaces in each team space after the meet has concluded.

Safety Considerations

• Designated hand sanitizer will be provided for meet officials and other on field personnel to use throughout the contest.

• An athletics' staff member will periodically clean/disinfect equipment, hard surfaces and other equipment to the extent that is practical.

• Each team member including officials will be responsible for their own designated water bottle/container for use during the competition. Every effort should be made to have the bottle/container full upon arrival to the facility. Dickinson will be responsible for providing extra water through a no touch distribution method.

• NO SPECTATORS WILL BE PERMITTED!

Restroom Facilities

• Locker room facilities will not be made available to visiting teams. Student-athletes and officials are expected to arrive dressed and ready for the competition.

• Visiting teams and officials will be provided a designated restroom facility.

    • Biddle Stadium Restrooms – Ursinus and Gettysburg and McDaniel
    • Durden Second Floor Restrooms – Meet Officials
    • Durden First Floor Restrooms – Dickinson
    • Kline Center Restrooms – Pole Vaulters only

Athletic Training Services

• No visiting team members or personnel will have access to the main athletic training facility, unless for emergency care. When possible, athletic trainers should travel with their teams to limit interaction between AT and visiting team members.

• Dickinson College Sports Medicine will provide a table for taping/evaluation for the visiting team as well as access to ice.

• Athletic training staff will communicate with each other 48 hours prior to contests to verify the travel plans for the team arriving at the site of competition.

Unexpected COVID-19 Symptom Presentation

• If a student-athlete or member of the athletics staff develops symptoms suggestive of infection with COVID-19 during travel to or at the site of contest, the contest will be stopped immediately and either cancelled or postponed.

• The symptomatic individual must  notify their head coach and the athletic training staff immediately.

• The symptomatic individual must immediately isolate in a private location. The Dickinson Game Manager will escort the individual to the Isolation Space until arrangements for transportation can be made.
