(Shippensburg, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's track & field team had a strong showing at the Shippensburg Duals, competing against some strong Division II competition on Wednesday.
Senior Eric Herrmann (Saint James, N.Y./Smithtown) won the 1500-meters with a time of 3:59.79 and first-year Christopher Scharf (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown) won the 5000, coming across the line in 15:49.35. Senior Will Chandler (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) came in sixth in the 1500.
Reuben Winston (Potomac, Md./Charles E. Smith) placed second in the 3000-meter steeplechase and Thomas Riordan (Campbell, S.C./Landrum) ran to a fifth-place finish in the 800 with a time of 1:59.61.
Adam Gamber (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield) added a third-place finish in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 4.25 meters.
First-year Aaron Brick (Wilmington, Del./Wilmington Friends) clocked a time of 52.16 to place ninth in the 400 meters.
In the shot put Brock Hartman (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) was 10th with a throw of 12.41 meters. Francisco Villarreal (Carson, Calif./Carson) was 13th while Ellis Kimmel (Philadelphia, Pa./Central) was 16th and Maxwell Yoshida (Grosse Point Woods, Mich./Grosse Point) and Jake Licht (Hanover, N.H./Hanover) finished 19th and 20th, respectively.
The Red Devils are scheduled to compete at the Larry Ellis Invitational on Friday at Princeton University.
