Men's Tennis Opens Fall at TCNJ Doubles Invite

(Ewing, N.J.) – The Dickinson men's tennis team opened the fall season at the College of New Jersey, competing at the Lions' Kickoff Double Tournament.

Sophomore Joey Bolanos (San Salvador, El Salvador/Escuela Americans) and first-year Justin Pace (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand) posted an 8-4 win over TCNJ's Gokul Murugesan and Mikhael Kadyrkaev. Pace partnered with classmate Andrew Lai (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater) against Stevens Tech, playing to an 8-5 setback.

First-year Leonid Sorkin (St. Petersburg, Russia/U. of Nebraska H.S.) and Sam Coan (Washington, D.C./Bullis) turned in a strong performance in a top-flight match with Stevens, falling 8-7 (7-3).

Bolanos and Lai teamed up for a solid showing against New York University, but dropped an 8-7 decision in a 7-4 tie-breaker.

The Red Devils head to the ITA Southeast Regionals at the University of Mary Washington this weekend.
