Men's Swimming Falls to Bullets and Shoremen

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Dickinson men's swimming team began their 2021-22 campaign with a pair of setbacks falling 198-61 to the host Gettysburg College and 152-107 versus Washington College at Bullets Pool on Saturday afternoon.

The Devils got off to a good start with a second-place finish in the 200-yard medley relay as the team of Cameron McConagha, Ben Shoul, Daniel Vasquez, and Justin Wong clocked in at 1:38.86, which was three seconds off the mark set by Gettysburg. In that same event the group of Nolan Chenot, Frederico Colloca-Bianchi, Cooper Kocon, and Damon St. Prix earned fifth-place finishing in 1:40.86.

Alex Kanard gave it a good go in the 1000-yard freestyle touching the wall in 10:27.90 which gave him a third-place result.

Aidan Keillor took home a Top-5 finish in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:51.22, while Reid Schattgen (1:51.78) and Daulton Kendall (1:51.80) earned seventh and eighth.  

McConagha continued a solid day coming in fifth in the 100-yard breaststroke at 1:02.09, with Kocon clocking in a second later (1:03.05). 

In the 200-yard butterfly, Vasquez put up a second-place result hitting the wall in 1:59.51.

Dickinson took home third, fourth, and fifth in the 50-yard freestyle thanks to Bjorn Prandtner (22.13), Shoul (22.17), and St. Prix (22.32). 

St. Prix picked up another Top-5 finish in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 48.60 good for fourth. 

The 200-yard backstroke saw Vasquez claim fourth at 2:00.40, while Colloca-Bianchi came in fifth with a time of 2:05.65.

Billy Wilkerson put up a Top-5 result in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:12.16, which was seven seconds off the pace of Keillor in third who clocked in at 5:05.52. 

Vasquez time of 2:00.85 was good for third in the 200-yard individual medley, while Schattgen took fourth in the 100 butterfly completing the event in 55.41.

The final event of the day the 400-yard freestyle relay saw the team of Kanard, Kendall, St. Prix, and Wong claim third with a time of 3:15.89.
