CALI, COLOMBIA - Dickinson men's squash first-year Nicolas Londono earned a silver medal in mixed doubles squash at the first-ever Junior Pan American Games in Cali, Columbia at the Campestre de Cali Canchas Squash on Monday evening.
The Bogota, Columbia native along with his partner Lucia Bautista earned the silver for their home country of Columbia by posting a 2-1 record over three matches in a two-day span. In their first match of the tournament on Sunday, the duo knocked off Gabriel Torrez and Vanessa Rios from Argentina by scores of 11-6 and 11-4. Then, later that day they proved to be too much for the pair of Lisandro Ortiz and Valentina Portieri representing Argentina by margins of 11-3 and 11-10 to earn a spot in the final. Unfortunately, for Londono and Bautista they were unable to hold onto an early lead against the team from Mexico dropping a hard-fought three-game match 3-11, 11-7, and 11-8.
