(Boston, Mass.) – The #25-ranked Dickinson men's squash team advanced to the final of the Conroy Cup (D Division) bracket at the College Squash Association Team Championships on Saturday.
The Red Devils turned back Connecticut College, 8-1, as they look to defend their #25-ranking as the top-seed in the Division.
Senior Abdelrahman Elsergany (Cairo, Egypt/Kent School, Conn.) won the top spot in straight sets (11-7, 11-7, 11-3).
Alex Wattles (Millburn, N.Y./Millburn) battled in the second before falling (9-11, 11-5, 11-8, 13-11).
Kobe Fleming (Whitby, New Zealand) survived a tough first and dominated the second to claim the point at number three (12-10, 11-1, 11-8).
Tanay Murdia (New Fatehpura Udaipur, India/Delhi Public School) and Osuman Imoro (New Haven, Conn./Trinity Pawling) won in straight sets in the fourth and fifth flights and Graham Henderson (Greenwich, Conn./The King School) went (11-2, 11-5, 11-4) to take the sixth.
Hussien Eldesouky (Cairo, Egypt/Berkshire School, Mass.) and Ben Gemma (Barrington, R.I./Moses Brown) added points with 3-1 wins and MJ Tricolli (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Haverford School) posted a score of (11-3, 11-7, 11-2). Patrick Noonan (Chapel Hill, N.C./Woodberry Forest) won in exhibition, 3-1 as well.
The Red Devils improve to 8-13 on the season. They advance to Sunday's final and will face #2-seed Hamilton College at 11:00 am.
