Men's Squash Rebounds to Turn Back Chatham 7-2

(Carlisle, Pa.) – The #25-ranked Dickinson men's squash team rebounded on Sunday to claim a 7-2 victory over visiting #30-ranked Chatham University.

The Cougars captured the top two flights, but the Red Devils swept the rest of the match to take the win.

Abdelrahman Elsergany (Cairo, Egypt/Kent School, Conn.) came up short in a well-played match, falling 3-2 in a five-set marathon, (13-11, 5-11, 12-14, 11-9, 7-11). Alex Wattles (Millburn, N.Y./Millburn) dropped a four-set match at number two.

The Red Devils claimed five matches in straight sets, led by Ben Gemma (Barrington, R.I./Moses Brown), going (11-2, 11-0, 11-1). Patrick Noonan (Chapel Hill, N.C./Woodberry Forest) allowed just eight points in the ninth flight (11-3, 11-4, 11-1) while Tanay Murdia (New Fatehpura Udairpur, India/Delhi Public School) went (11-6, 11-5, 11-5) to win at number three.

Graham Henderson (Greenwich, Conn./The King School) and Hussien Eldesouky (Cairo, Egypt/Berkshire School, Mass.) claimed straight set victories while Kobe Fleming (Whitby, New Zealand) survived a five-set marathon in the fourth flight (11-8, 11-5, 7-11, 3-11, 11-9).

Osuman Imoro (New Haven, Conn./Trinity Pawling) battled to a 3-1 win at number five (11-13, 11-2, 11-2, 11-7).

The Red Devils improve to 5-10 overall. They are scheduled to compete in the Mid-Atlantic States Championships next weekend.
