(Brunswick, Maine) – The #26-ranked Dickinson men's squash team suffered an 8-1 setback at #24-Bowdoin College on Wednesday morning and dropped a 7-2 match at #24-ranked Bates in the afternoon.
Senior Abdelrahman Elsergany (Cairo, Egypt/Kent School, Conn.) claimed the lone point against Bowdoin, capturing the top-flight in four sets (11-7, 3-11, 11-7, 11-6).
Tanay Murdia (New Fatehpura Udaipur, India/Delhi Public School) and Kobe Fleming (Whitby, New Zealand) battled through five-game setbacks in the number three and number five flights. Murdia pulled in front, 2-1, before Tyler Shonrock rallied to claim the match (11-7, 10-12, 7-11, 11-9, 11-6).
Fleming rallied with a solid fourth set to pull even at 2-2, but Gannon Leech took the deciding fifth (10-12, 11-9, 11-8, 1-11, 11-8).
Elserghany and Fleming earned the points for the Red Devils against Bates. Elserghany used a strong start to claim the top-flight (11-2, 9-11, 11-3, 11-9) while Fleming went (15-13, 9-11, 11-8, 11-5) in the number four spot.
Henderson had a strong match at number five, falling in four sets. (11-4, 13-11, 10-12, 11-8).
The Red Devils slip to 3-7 overall. They return to action on Thursday, traveling to #23-ranked Colby for a 5:00 pm start.
