(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's soccer team suffered its third straight setback as visiting Catholic University capitalized on a penalty kick to escape with a 1-0 victory as they improved to 5-1 on the season.

Ben Alexander put the Cardinals on the board in the 15th minute and that would be all the scoring for the remainder of the game.

Defense and strong midfield play kept the shot count to a minimum for the most part with Catholic holding an 11-8 advantage for the match while each team produced five corners.

The Red Devils made some strong attacking runs late in the game but were unable to net the equalizer before time expired.

Jack Long made four saves to earn the win for the Cardinals while junior John Baney (Ridgewood, N.J./Montclair Kimberly Academy) finished with five saves on the afternoon.

The Red Devils slip to 2-3 on the season. They are on the road on Wednesday, traveling to Lycoming College for a 4:30 pm start.
