Big Third Quarter Carries Mules Past Dickinson

(ALLENTOWN, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's lacrosse team suffered a 15-9 setback at Muhlenberg College on Saturday after the teams went four overtimes just two weeks ago with the Red Devils coming out on top.

Muhlenberg took a 3-1 lead in the first quarter with Jake Giotto (Pittsburgh, Pa./Quaker Valley) putting Dickinson on the board off an assist from Sascha Gannon (Lexington, Mass./Belmont Hill).

Timmy Carlson (Bryn Mawr, Pa./Haverford School) opened the second quarter with an unassisted goal before the Mules countered with a pair to lead 5-2.

Tucker Booth (Timonium, Md./Boys' Latin) tallied a pair of assists and scored once to pull Dickinson even at the break, 5-5.

The Mules erupted with six goals in the third quarter to pull in front, 11-6. Patrick Mangan (Severna Park, Md./Archbishop Spalding) broke up the run with an assist from Booth at the 11:29 mark.

The Red Devils looked to rally in the fourth but could only play even with the Mules. Gannon added a late assist and a goal in the final 48 seconds. Booth scored early in the period to finish with two goals and three assists on the day.

Skyler Schluter (Summit, N.J./Summit) tallied two goals and an assist while John McKee (Virginia Beach, Va./Episcopal) won 15-of-28 face-offs and controlled three ground balls. Teddy Macfarlane (Baltimore, Md./Gilman) force three turnovers and Stroud Corr (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) made 14 saves.

The Red Devils slip to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Ursinus College for a 12:00 pm start next Saturday.
