CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson men's basketball team put four players including three starters in double-figures but were unable to outlast the visiting Mount Aloysius College on Wednesday night falling by a final of 96-90 in overtime in front of a raucous Kline Center crowd.

The beginning of the game started slowly for both sides as a Carlos Palacio layup was the only bucket in the first two-and-a-half minutes. Dickinson finally hit the board for the first time when Ryan Robinson knocked down a pair at the line. An Aaron Bailey score was matched by Dwayne Jones and Palacio to give MAC a 6-4 edge at the five-minute mark. The Mounties continued to ride along going on an 8-2 spurt finished off by a Jason Coronado trey to stretch the gap to 14-6. DC would use the three-ball to trim away the deficit with Justin Glover, Jack Tierney, and Brandon Wiercinski each delivering from downtown to pull the Devils within 19-18 with less than ten minutes to play.  Wiercinski continued to hit from long range burying two more to hold the margin at one, 25-24. MAC used a 6-2 push to reopen a 31-26 lead before five consecutive Robinson points leveled the score at 31-31. The visitors scored five of the last eight points of the half to take a 36-34 edge at the break.

Drew Haueisen tried to provide a spark for the home side coming out of halftime as he finished off a layup, hit from deep, and added a free throw to make it 41-40 just two minutes in. Haueisen and Robinson continued to supply the Devils offense but still could not get DC into the lead as the Mounties led 47-46 with 5:31 gone. Five minutes later MAC was still holding the Black and Red at an arm's length as buckets from Travis Dobbins and Haueisen were answered by De'Von Haggans as well as Enoch Quarcoo to make it 54-48. Dickinson did not go away however with Wiercinski scoring five points, while Chris Bates added a layup during a 7-2 Devils run to once again close within one at 56-55. Palacio extended the edge back to 60-55 before Bates converted at the rim and Wiercinski stuck another one from deep to once again tie the score (60-60). Back-to-back "old-fashioned" three-point plays by Haueisen and Wiercinski gave DC a slim 66-65 advantage with just over five minutes left. The game would continue to seesaw back-and-forth with MAC grabbing a 75-71 lead before Dobbins netted four straight to level the score. Haueisen and Palacio exchanged buckets in the final minute to force overtime at 77-77.

The Mounties took early control in the overtime as they went on a 9-0 charge in the opening 3:09 capped off by a Palacio triple to take an 86-77 advantage. Bailey, Dobbins, and Wiercinski picked up points at the charity line, but another Palacio trey stalled the momentum at 89-81 with less than a minute remaining. Coronado made seven foul shots the rest of the way, while Anthony Goeb and Bailey accounted for the Devils offense resulting in the 96-90 final.
