(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's basketball team jumped out early on visiting Ursinus College and held of the Bears for an 85-75 win on Saturday afternoon.

Jack Tierney (Darien, Conn./Darien) sandwiched a pair of baskets around a three-point play from Chris Bates (Ellicott City, Md./Boys' Latin) to give Dickinson an early 7-0 lead.

Tierney struck again and Bryce Allen (Albany, N.Y./The Hill School) buried a three-pointer for a 12-2 start.

The Red Devils built the lead to 13 at the midpoint of the half and held a 40-30 advantage at the break.

Ryan Devine (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) knocked-down a three to stretch the lead to 19 with 15:34 remaining in the second half and first-year Mark Bowditch (Milton, Wisc./IMG Academy) gave Dickinson its biggest lead of the game, hitting a three-pointer at the 11:55 mark.

The Red Devils held a 15-point lead for most of the second half until a late rally pulled the Bears within nine. Solid free throw shooting would protect the lead down the stretch.

Allen had another big night, matching the game-high with 24 points, adding seven assists, four rebounds and two steals, going 11-for-13 from the free throw line.

Four Red Devils reached double-figures with Tierney and Ryan Robinson (Vienna, Va./George Marshall) each netting 15. Tierney added nine rebounds and three assists while Robinson pulled down five boards, adding three assists as well.

Travis Dobbins (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) finished with 10 points while Bates tallied six points and three rebounds. Luke Spellman (Westfield, N.J./Westfield) turned in some quality minutes as well, adding four points, five rebounds and a pair of blocked shots.

The Red Devils improve to 3-18 overall and 3-11 in the Centennial Conference. They are on the road on Wednesday, traveling to Franklin & Marshall for an 8:00 pm tip-off.
