(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's basketball team had another heartbreaking night, falling by one in overtime for the second straight game as Muhlenberg edged the Red Devils 75-74 at the Kline Center.

The Red Devils took an early 11-7 lead behind a lay up and three-pointer from senior Bryce Allen (Albany, N.Y./The Hill School) and first-year Travis Dobbins (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) scored back-to-back buckets to give Dickinson a 17-11 advantage at the midpoint of the half.

The Mules cut the deficit to just a field-goal before the Red Devils built the margin to seven behind a three-pointer from Dan Conlan (Sewickley, Pa./Quaker Valley) and another strong drive from Dobbins.

Dickinson took a 37-32 lead into halftime behind 12 points and three assists from Allen and eight points and a pair of steals from Dobbins.

The teams traded field-goals to open the second before the Mules pulled even on a three-pointer from Dan Gaines at the 14:52 mark. KJ Holton (Clinton, Md./DeMatha) traded three-pointers with Gaines to knot the game 47-47.

The Red Devils knocked down three straight triples by Ryan Devine (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt), Dobbins and Jack Tierney (Darien, Conn./Darien) to pull in front, 56-48.

Dickinson held the lead with Holton making the score 63-55 with 5:33 left to play in regulation. Back-to-back three-pointers pulled the Mules back within two before Conlan answered with a three for the Red Devils.

Haines hit a pair of free throws and fed Dallas Hoffman inside to cut the deficit to three. Hoffman grabbed a defensive board on the other end and Haines tied the game on a three-pointer with 39 seconds on the clock.

The Red Devils had a final possession with 12 seconds to play but the Mules forced a turnover. Tierney stole the ball back, but the game would go into overtime knotted at 68-68.

Muhlenberg struck first in overtime before free throws from Holton and strong basket inside from Conlan gave Dickinson the lead. The Mules used free throws from Michael Morreale and Gaines to take a 73-72 lead with 2:33 remaining.

Holton split the defense and scored with 17 seconds on the clock, but the Mules would answer as Gaines found Noah Watson for a lay-up with just three seconds to play. Holton drove into the front court and had a decent look, but the shot would not fall as Muhlenberg held on 75-74.

Dobbins and Holton each finished with 16 points to lead the Red Devils. Dobbins added four rebounds and three steals while Holton grabbed three rebounds to go with two assists, a steal and a blocked shot.

Allen finished with 12 points, adding seven assists, six rebounds and a pair of steals. Onye Okoro (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern) tallied eight points and five rebounds while Conlan added eight points, four rebounds and two assists. Tierney had seven points, five rebounds and two steals on the night.

The Red Devils slip to 2-16 overall and 2-9 in the Centennial Conference. They are back on the road on Saturday, traveling to Haverford College for a 3:00 pm tip-off.
