(Annville, Pa.) – The Dickinson men's basketball team traveled to Annville to face Lebanon Valley for the second time this week after meeting in the second round of the Randolph-Macon Invitational on Monday. The hosts pulled away late to claim a 69-56 decision to start the new year.

The host Dutchmen claimed the first meeting and jumped out to a 7-0 start on Friday. Chris Bates (Ellicott City, Md./Boys' Latin) hit a baby hook to cut the deficit to 12-7 before LVC made the score 18-9 at the midpoint of the half.

The hosts built the lead to 28-13, with 6:16 on the clock. Ryan Devine (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) buried a three-pointer out of a timeout and Ryan Robinson (Vienna, Va./George Marshall) and KJ Holton (Clinton, Md./DeMatha) sparked a run to cut the margin to 32-25.

The Dutchmen used a 6-0 clip to take a 38-25 lead into the break behind nine points on 4-of-5 shooting from Joe Harris.

Travis Dobbins (Baltimore, Md./Archbishop Curley) led the Red Devils with five points and three steals, taking a charge late in the half. The Devils were solid at the line, going 7-for-8.

Lucas Curran (Croton on Hudson, N.Y./The Masters School) knocked down a three-pointer and added a layup before Robinson scored off a blocked shot from Holton to cut the lead to six in the opening two minutes of the second half.

The Red Devils were relentless on the defensive end, holding the hosts to just eight points in eight minutes to start the second, but trailed by 11 after a three-pointer from Collin Jones.

Robinson hit a pair from the stripe and fed Dobbins for a three to make it a six-point game, 46-40. LVC countered with an 11-2 run to pull in front, 57-42, with 5:44 remaining in the game.

Onye Okoro (Voorhees, N.J./Eastern) made a strong move inside and the Red Devils kept battling with free throws from Adam Drummond (Cork, Ireland/Taft School, Conn.) and a nice finish plus an and-one from Jack Tierney (Darien, Conn./Darien).

Devine buried a three-pointer to keep the Devils' hopes alive at 64-53, with just under two minutes remaining but the Dutchmen would hold on for the final of 69-56.

Dobbins led the way with 10 points while Holton added nine points and three blocks. Robinson finished with eight points, three blocks, three rebounds and a pair of assists. Devine added seven points while Curran tallied four rebounds and three steals.

The Red Devils slip to 1-10 on the season. They return to Centennial Conference action next Thursday, traveling to #13-ranked Johns Hopkins for an 8:00 pm tip-off.
