(Ashland, Va.) – The Dickinson men's basketball team made a late run at Lebanon Valley on Monday, but the Dutchmen held on in the end to capture the consolation game at the Fink's Jewelers RMC Coaches Invitational, 80-68.

Ryan Robinson (Vienna, Va./George Marshall) and Jack Tierney (Darien, Conn./Darien) opened the game with back-to-back three-pointers and Ryan Devine (New Egypt, N.J./New Egypt) hit a pair of triples to give Dickinson a 19-13 lead at the eight-minute mark of the first half.

Dickinson led 21-15 before the Dutchmen went on a big run behind back-to-back three-pointers from Collin Jones to put LVC up, 37-25, at the break.

Devine added another three-pointer to lead the Red Devils with nine points in the first half while sophomore Adam Drummond (Cork, Ireland/Taft School. Conn.) pulled down five rebounds.

KJ Holton (Clinton, N.J./DeMatha) made a strong move and scored to start the second half but the Dutchmen put together another big run, stretching the margin to 49-27, in the opening five minutes.

Garrett Markey (York, Pa./York Central) got hot, scoring a quick seven points and Drummond hit a pair of three-pointers to cut the deficit to 64-52 with 7:50 remaining in the game.

Tierney hit a pair of free throws and capitalized on a steal off the press to add another score and cut it to eight.

Holton buried a three from the corner to counter a Dutchmen field-goal with 4:41 remaining to force a timeout, 66-59.

Drummond had a strong second half and helped keep the Red Devils in the hunt down the stretch, but LVC was able to hold on for the win.

Holton led the way with 14 points while Drummond finished with 12 points and seven rebounds. Markey was 4-for-4 from the field for nine points, matching Devine. Tierney scored seven points and handed out five assists and Chris Bates (Ellicott City, Md./Boys' Latin) controlled five rebounds and had four points.

The Red Devils move to 1-9 on the season. They will face the Dutchmen again on Friday, traveling to Annville for a 3:00 pm tip-off.
