(Carlisle, Pa.) – The #8-ranked Franklin & Marshall field hockey team struck twice in the second quarter to remain unbeaten on the season with a 2-0 win over Dickinson.
Lily Mynott redirected a shot from Erin Coverdale to put the Diplomats on the board, just 1:22 into the second quarter.
Coverdale gave F&M a 2-0 lead, scoring with 10 minutes to play in the half, scoring off an assist from Darby Klopp.
The Diplomats held a 10-2 advantage in shots in the first half, but the Red Devils had a strong showing after the break, holding F&M to just two shots. F&M held a 4-1 advantage in penalty corners, all in the first half.
Senior goalkeeper Heather Meeder (Baltimore, Md./Academy of Notre Dame) made six saves on the afternoon while Christina Seery stopped four shots for F&M.
The Red Devils slip to 4-4 overall and 1-1 in the Centennial Conference. They are on the road this weekend, traveling to Muhlenberg College for a 12:00 pm start.
