Help Football to Save Lives on April 13th

CARLISLE, Pa. - Have you ever wanted to be a part of saving someone's life? Well here is your opportunity. Join the Dickinson football team on Wednesday, April 13th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. inside the HUB Social Hall to register to be a bone marrow donor.

"Be The Match, Get In The Game" is the name of the event and it involves nearly 200 college and university football programs that have partnered with the Andy Talley Bone Marrow Foundation to join in the fight against cancer. Former Villanova University Head Football Coach Andy Talley began his "Be The Match" journey in the fall of 1992 when he educated and registered over 200 student-athletes and coaches at Villanova. He continued to educate and organize various registration drives throughout the campus and tirelessly worked to generate more funds from independent donors to cover the cost of testing kits. Then in the spring of 2008 he was contacted by the organization to team up allowing for his efforts to expand. Over the past dozen years, Coach Talley has inspired over 150 other college football programs to participate by hosting their own on-campus donor drives each spring. Since the program began in 2008 the GITG drives have been responsible for over 100,000 potential donors, with more than 800 transplants actually occurring because of the foundation.

Everyone is welcome to attend the event. The process is easy, simple, and you could ultimately be the reason a life is saved. Click on the links below to learn more about the organization and event.
