Inside the Game

After a quiet first two innings for both sides, the Red Devils jumped out to a 3-0 lead after a three-run third inning. Kenny Tagliareni reached on an error and Tom Gannaway worked a walk before Luke Atsalis opened the scoring with a two-run RBI double to center field that plated both. Hare immediately followed that up with an RBI double in the very next at-bat to plate Atsalis. Matt Spind provided a one-two-three home-half of the frame to keep things right where they were.

Gettysburg would knot things up in the bottom of the fourth as a single, walk, and hit batter led to a sac fly for David Preziuso. After a strikeout Matthew Peipher ripped a triple to left-center to drive in two more and make it 3-3 through four.

Dickinson grabbed the lead for good in the seventh when Lukas Atsalis walked to start things off before, Hare picked up his second RBI of the afternoon with a triple to center field. Hare would come around to score one batter later on a sac fly from Matt Torres against reliever Brett Leighton. The Bullets answered back with one of their own during the home-half when Mark Seibert reached on an infield single leading to an RBI two-bagger for Preston Toothman versus Joey Sangiuolo.

Beau Dana locked the game down in the last of the ninth by striking out two batters, before inducing a groundball out of Toothman to end the game.
