(Allentown, Pa.) – The Dickinson baseball team had high hopes on Monday but saw its season come to an end, falling 10-1 at Muhlenberg College in a make-up game from Friday. The Red Devils had a great season, finishing 22-15 overall and 9-9 in the Centennial Conference.

The Mules scored a pair of runs in the third inning after a lead-off double and bunt single led to a run on a failed pick-off and bases loaded walk.

John Serruto reached on a walk and scored for the second time, coming across on a passed ball to stretch the lead to 3-0 in the fourth.

Muhlenberg tallied six hits in the bottom of the fifth to score seven runs behind a two-RBI double from Brenden Weiss and a two-run RBI from Serruto.

Senior Ben Carter (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) drew a walk in the eighth and came in to score on a wild pitch to spoil the shutout.

Joey Volpe (Wall, N.J./St. Rose) went 2-for-3 to lead the Red Devils at the plate.

Tommy Koide (Morristown, N.J./West Morris Mendham) suffered just his second loss of the season in a 4.2-inning, four strikeout effort. Ben Rappaport (Wilton, Conn./St. Luke's) came on to strike out five batters in 3.1 innings of work.

The Red Devils finish 22-15 on the season.
