(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson baseball team continued to roll through early part of the schedule, improving to 12-2 on the season with a 10-6 win over Brockport State on Wednesday.

The Red Devils pushed across two runs in the bottom of the first inning to take an early lead. Ben Carter (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing Area) led-off the game with a single, stole second and quickly came in to score on a double from Brendan Pell (Delran, N.J./Delran).

Pell advanced to third and scored on a sacrifice fly from Alex Cohen (Newtown Square, Pa./Penn Charter) to stretch the lead to 2-0.

Brockport answered with four runs in the third as the Lou Miceli cleared the bases with a three-run double and came in himself on a hit batter with the bases loaded.

The Red Devils wasted little time erasing the deficit as Carter singled again in the bottom half of the inning. Joey Volpe (Wall, N.J./St. Rose) singled as well and they both came around to score on a Pat Davis (New Providence, N.J./Morristown-Beard) double to tie the game 4-4.

The Eagles capitalize on a pair of Dickinson errors to pull in front, 6-4, in the top of the fourth.

Pell and Cohen each singled in the fifth to set up back-to-back RBI doubles for Davis and junior Brian Reilly (Morganville, N.J./Marlboro). Davis drove in Pell with his second bomb to the wall and Reilly stepped in to score Cohen and Davis to put the Red Devils back in front, 7-6.

Errors plagued the Eagles in the eighth as Dickinson tacked on three more runs to gain some separation at 10-6. Pat Harrington (Long Valley, N.J./Delbarton) reached on an error, stole second and came in to score as Chris Delsandro (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) also reached on an error.

Carter launched a triple to left center to bring in Delsandro and came across as Pell tallied another RBI in the eighth.

Teddy Reddington (Reston, Va./Flint Hill) went 5.2 innings to earn the win while Ethan Collins (Elmer, N.J./Arthur P. Schalick) earned the save with a solid performance in relief, booking five strikeouts in a two-hit effort, going 2.1 innings before Tommy Koide (Morristown, N.J./West Morris Mendham) came on to close things out in the ninth.

Davis finished the day 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, a run scored and a walk. Pell went 3-for-5 with a double, scoring twice and driving in two runs while Carter went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI.

First-year Tom Gannaway (Westfield, N.J./Saint Peter's Prep) went 3-for-4 at the plate, earning the start at shortstop.

The Red Devils improve to 12-2 on the season. They are in action again on Friday, traveling to Cabrini University for a 3:30 pm start.
