Women's Tennis Ends Break With 7-2 Win

(Orlando, Fla.) – The Dickinson women's tennis team closed out its spring break schedule with a 7-2 win over the University of Scranton on Thursday evening in Orlando.

The Red Devils captured first and second doubles to take a 2-1 lead. Rachel Flame (Blue Bell, Pa./Wissahickon) and Olivia Shea (West Hartford, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford) held on for the win in the top flight (8-7, (8-6).

Lexi Epstein (Falmouth, Maine/Waynflete) and Emily Sprague (South Burlington, Vt./South Burlington) won the second flight 8-4.

Flame earned another point, winning the top singles flight while Epstein posted a (6-0, 6-0) decision in the second flight.

Hanna Butler (Gibson Island, Md./Severn School) went (6-0, 6-1) while Lydia Fox (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Arlington) had strong second set to win the fifth (6-2, 6-1). Shea earned the point at six with a score of (6-2, 6-7, 10-5).

The Red Devils improve to 3-3 on the season. They return north to open Centennial Conference play, traveling to Muhlenberg on Saturday, March 23.
